Craig Jaster (b.1959) is an American musician and collage artist. Collaborating with an unpredictable, ever-changing palette of weathered wheatpaste posters, product packaging, and other papers foraged out in the world, his practice is driven by curiosity and playful persistence; like the cardinal rule of improvisational theater, to respond, “yes, and…” to ideas offered by the resources at hand. He thinks of the accretions of images and text fragments in his work as dreams, where meaning is often just out of reach, allowing space for both artist and viewer to wonder. The textured, layered and scarred surfaces honor the trial and error process, the transient nature of the materials, and the tangible, messy reality of experience in a world now dominated by the intermediary of digital media.

He is based in New Hampshire, USA and Maremma, Italy, and is a member of the Italian Collagists Collective and the New Hampshire Art Association.
